This is my first stab at a blog. I plan to write entries a couple of days a week. One entry will focus on business. I've spent my career developing channel relationships and selling directly to accounts. I love doing this. I am endlessly fascinated by business and want to share my thoughts about various subjects.
My second entry will contain thoughts about other things that interest me - books that I am reading, sports, music, wine- whatever strikes my fancy. I plan to avoid politics as much as possible. There’s already too much noise and not enough insight.
Here are some things that you should know about me:
My sports interests include the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Steelers, golf, and paddle tennis.
I listen to Bruce Springsteen, the Modern Jazz Quartet, and classical music. I play the piano enthusiastically, if not gracefully.
My favorite author is Robertson Davies, but I wish that I wrote as well as P.G. Wodehouse. I enjoy contributing to Michael Dirda's discussion board at the Washington Post.
My favorite tv shows are Dr. WHO, MAD MEN, MASTERPIECE MYSTERY, MIDSOMER MURDERS, THE SOPRANOS, and the British OFFICE. I should also mention that I am obsessed with THE VIRGINIAN right now.
My favorite movies are BACK TO THE FUTURE and NO WAY TO SAY GOODBYE.
In other words, I'm eclectic. I have lots of enthusiasms and look forward to writing about them.
